ReactOS 0.3.1 installation

This tutorial should help you to install a vanilla ReactOS 0.3.1 as a Q GuestPC in 3 steps. You can download the installation CD for free from  here. There is a bug with formating the harddisk. This is why you sometime have to startover after step 8. But it's always working the second time :). Let's say, if You can read and write "YES" and press "return", this should be no problem ;).

Step One: Configuring the GuestPC

1. create new PC
   1. choose "Windows 95/98/98SE/ME"
   2. hit "Create PC"
2. in the "General" tab
   • give your guest a meaningfull name
3. in the "Hardware" tab
   • set CD-ROM to your downloaded file
   • set Boot to "CD-ROM"
4. hit "Create PC"

Step Two: Setting up ReactOS

1. press "Return"



2. press "Return"



3. press "Return"



4. press "Return"



5. press "Return"



6. press "Return" *TWO TIMES* (it seams we have a little bug here)



7. press "Return"



8. press "Return" (*WORKAROUND* for bug => now boot again from CD, then start over at 1. Next time we reach 6, everything is fine and we can continue with 9.)



9. press "Return"



10. watch ReactOS installing :)



11. press "Return"



12. press "Return"



13. press *NO KEY* we want to boot from Harddisk



14. watch reactOS startup



15. click "Next"



16. click "Next"



17. just type a Name (Company is free) and click "next"



18. just type a Computer-Name (Password is not needed) and click "next"



19. click "Next"



20. click "Next"



21. click "Finish", then shutdown the guest immedialteley.

Step Three: Reconfiguring the GuestPC

1. edit PC
2. in the "Hardware" tab
   • set Boot to "Harddisk"
3. hit "Update PC"

Now You are ready to run.
